Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell Reunite for Horror Comedy Movie

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are reuniting for a new horror comedy movie, bringing one of television’s most beloved comedy duos back together for a project that blends nostalgia, laughs, and classic monster mayhem. The longtime collaborators, who became household names through All That, Kenan & Kel, and the Good Burger films, announced the news Tuesday on Amazon.

The former Nickelodeon stars are set to star in and produce the upcoming film Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein, a project described as a modern homage to the vintage Abbott & Costello monster comedies. The announcement was made on Jan. 20 during Thompson’s Amazon series Good Sports, where Mitchell stepped in as guest host while Kevin Hart was absent due to illness.

“Kel and I have always loved finding new ways to work together, and this project felt like the perfect mix of nostalgia, comedy, and something completely unexpected,” said Kenan Thompson in a statement. “We’re excited to bring a fresh take on a classic monster story and have some fun doing it.”

Mitchell echoed that sentiment, emphasizing how effortless their creative partnership remains decades after it began. “Coming back together always feels natural, and this lets us tap into everything people love about our dynamic while trying something totally new,” said Kel Mitchell. “It’s funny, it’s scary, and it’s a great ride.”

According to the film’s synopsis, the story follows two delivery drivers whose routine drop-off takes a terrifying turn when they arrive at a creepy, out-of-place castle and accidentally awaken Frankenstein’s monster. What begins as an ordinary night quickly spirals into a fight for survival, mixing physical comedy with classic horror tropes.

The project marks the first film collaboration for the duo since the 2023 release of Good Burger 2 on Paramount+, which itself was a long-awaited reunion for fans. That sequel followed years of speculation and demand, proving the enduring appeal of the pair’s chemistry.

In addition to their film reunion, Thompson and Mitchell have continued to reconnect in recent years. In 2022, the two reunited on Saturday Night Live for a Kenan & Kel sketch alongside Keke Palmer, a moment that reignited fan excitement around future collaborations.

As for whether the Good Burger franchise could continue, Mitchell has previously suggested that a third installment is not off the table. In a 2025 interview with CT Insider, he revealed that discussions had already taken place and teased an even more over-the-top direction for the series.

“So, here’s the thing—we teased it,” Mitchell said at the time. “At the end of the movie, I said, ‘We’re gonna go to space. We’re going to ‘Fast and Furious’ this thing.’ Me and Kenan actually sat down and talked about the script for part three, so it’s going to go down. We’ve got to make sure it’s right… and we’re not gonna make you guys wait over 15 years.”

With Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein, the duo is once again leaning into the chemistry that made them cultural staples, proving that some comedy partnerships never expire—they just find new monsters to run from.
