Community Invited to Sam Houston Memorial for Michael R. Ward

A Memorial Celebration Honoring Michael R. Ward Will Take Place March 28 in San Antonio

San Antonio will come together on Saturday, March 28, to celebrate the life and legacy of Michael R. Ward, a respected musician and figure deeply connected to Sam Houston High School.

The memorial event will take place at American Legion Post 828 beginning at 7 p.m. and is open to the public with free admission.

Ward is being remembered not only for his musical talent, but for the impact he left on those around him and the culture he helped shape.

The evening will feature music, fellowship, and shared memories of Ward’s life. Sounds will be provided by DJ T-Willie, creating an atmosphere centered on celebration and connection.

Alumni, family, and friends of Sam Houston High School are encouraged to attend, reflecting the deep ties between the school and the surrounding community.

Supporting the Next Generation

The night also serves a forward-looking purpose, raising funds for the Sam Houston High School marching band.

All donations collected will go toward supporting the band’s travel to Florida A&M University, helping students gain exposure, experience, and opportunity beyond San Antonio.
