Walk Out Lupus Event Set for May 23 at Copernicus Park
Community members will come together Saturday, May 23, for the “Walk Out Lupus” event at Copernicus Park, aimed at raising awareness about lupus and honoring those impacted by the disease.
The walk, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 5003 Lord Road, will specifically recognize Murdis Boston while celebrating the strength of lupus warriors and remembering those who have lost their lives to the condition. Organizers are calling on the community to show up in support, unity, and education around a disease that continues to affect thousands.
Lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease, can cause widespread inflammation and damage to multiple organ systems, often making daily life a challenge for those diagnosed. Events like Walk Out Lupus provide both visibility and community connection, creating space for shared stories and collective support.
Participants are encouraged to attend, walk, and stand in solidarity with families affected by lupus. The event is expected to bring together residents from across San Antonio, reinforcing the importance of awareness, advocacy, and continued conversation around the disease.
