With Fiesta Kicking Off Today, San Antonio Heads Into Its Busiest Stretch Of The Season

Fiesta season officially kicks off today, marking the start of one of the busiest weeks of the year in San Antonio. Expect heavier traffic, limited parking, and a steady flow of people heading toward major events across the city. While Fiesta takes center stage, a local market, Earth Day, and community events are still taking place.

This Week’s Calendar of Events: April 16- April 23

Splash Pads Open for the Season
Where: Visit SA.Gov/Parks for a full list of locations | When: Beginning March 7 | 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily

Fiesta San Antonio 2026

San Antonio’s signature celebration returns with parades, live music, food, and cultural events across the city.

Fiesta Carnival
Where: Alamodome Parking Lot C | When: April 16 – April 26 | 5-11 p.m. Weekdays

Fiesta Carnival 2026: Dates, Location, Tickets and Discount Nights

One of Fiesta’s most popular attractions returns with rides, games, and classic fair food. Discount night includes $3 Dollar Ride Day on April 22. Weekday hours begin at 5:00 PM, with extended weekend hours starting at noon. For more information, click here.

City Approves $5 Fiesta Entry Fee For Peak Times

Chaparral Music & Heritage Festival

Farmers & Artisans Market
Where: Mission Marquee Plaza | When: April 18 | 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Start your morning with a free yoga or Zumba class at 9 a.m., followed by a relaxed market featuring locally sourced produce, handmade goods, and pop-up vendors. The event is free and pet-friendly.

A Night in Old San Antonio (NIOSA)®
Where: La Villita Historic Arts Village | When: April 21 – April 24 | 5:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

This four-night, ticketed Fiesta event brings thousands to La Villita for cultural food, themed booths, and nonstop live entertainment.

Hosted by The Conservation Society of San Antonio, guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance and check event details before attending.
