Before September and Fall Events Pick Up, Here’s What’s Wrapping Up August in San Antonio
This week brings a slower stretch of events as San Antonio closes out August and heads into September, with free music, family activities and a business expo filling out the calendar. But things pick up quickly next week, with a full lineup of festivals, community gatherings, markets, movies and more already waiting ahead.
San Antonio’s regular outdoor pool season has ended, but seven city pools remain open on weekends from 1 to 8 p.m. through Labor Day, Sept. 7. Meanwhile, the city’s seven splash pads remain open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. through October.

Summer Rewind at Hemisfair

Story Time at Hemisfair with SAAACAM

The San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum joins Hemisfair for its, every first Tuesday, monthly story time and hands-on activity. Grandparents Appreciation Month Begins

San Antonio Business Expo
Where: Norris Conference Center, 618 NW Loop 410, Suite 207 | When: Thursday, Sept. 3 | 3:30–8 p.m.
Business owners, entrepreneurs and professionals can connect with local companies, decision-makers and business resources during the San Antonio Business Expo. Free workshops on business credit and doing business with the State of Texas are also scheduled during the event. Admission is free with advance RSVP; walk-up admission without an RSVP is $20.

21st Annual African American City Wide Seniors Conference
Where: E. Thurman Walker Sports Complex, 314 Eross St. | When: Friday, Sept. 4 | 9–11:30 a.m.
The annual “United We Stand!” conference brings together Black seniors and community members for a morning focused on seniors and local resources. The event is free for adults 55 and older, and caretakers are welcome. No pets or children are permitted.
Comanche Ridge Fest
Where: Comanche Ridge, 15307 Comanche Place | When: Saturday, Sept. 5 | Noon–4 p.m.
Families can enjoy a bounce house, drone activity, homeownership seminar and tours of new homes during this free community event hosted by Keely Collier and Davidson Homes. Farmers and Artisans Market

The Lego Batman Movie

Margaritaville Dance Party

43rd Annual Jazz’SAlive
