V-Dub Dominates With 29 Points and 11 Rebounds Ahead of Saturday Rematch With Dallas
The Spurs took their show on the road defeating their IH35 rival Dallas Mavericks 135-123 to extend their current win streak to three.
It was the second game of a back-to-back following last night’s 116-106 home win over OKC.
Seven players scored in double digits for the Silver and Black led by V-Dub’s 29 points and 11 rebounds.
Wembanyama made his first five 3-pointers and had 20 points at halftime. The Spurs big man also dished out seven dimes while garnering three blocks. Harrison Barnes found his stroke going 5-7 from distance and finishing with 18 points. Stephon Castle had 18 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in 22 minutes off the bench in the win.
It was the sixth consecutive loss for the Mavs, losers of four out of their last six games. It was also their first game since center Anthony Davis, a 10-time All-Star was traded to Washington prior to yesterday’s trade deadline.

Naji Marshall and Rookie of the Year front runner Cooper Flagg paced the Mavericks with 32 points each. Flagg, who’s been on a historic tear recently was 14-27 shooting from the field and had 22 points in the second half in a losing effort. Last night’s performance extends his NBA record for consecutive games with at least 30 points by a teenager. The 19-year-old joined Michael Jordan, Bernard King, Allen Iverson and Jalen Green as the only rookies to score at least 30 in four straight games since the NBA-ABA merger in 1976-77.
The Spurs (35-16) are now just 4.5 games behind OKC and 2.5 games ahead of Denver (33-19) in the Western Conference.
The Mavericks will get an opportunity at redemption as the two teams square off Saturday at the Frost Bank Center.
