Whoopi Goldberg Launches WhoopInk a Blackstone Publishing Imprint

Whoopi Goldberg Launches WhoopInk Publishing Imprint to Champion New and Established Authors

Whoopi Goldberg is adding another title to her career resume, this time as a publishing imprint founder.

The Oscar winning actor, author, and co host of The View has launched WhoopInk, a new imprint created in partnership with Blackstone Publishing. The new venture is aimed at bringing fresh and diverse voices into the literary world while publishing books across a broad range of genres.

Goldberg, who has written more than a dozen books, is expected to be deeply involved in the imprint’s work.

According to the Associated Press, she will help guide projects from early concept stages through cover design and promotion, giving her a direct hand in shaping the books released under the WhoopInk name.

Goldberg Says the Imprint Will Center Influential Voices

In announcing the new imprint, Goldberg said she is excited about the opportunity to discover new writers while also working alongside established authors.

She described WhoopInk as a platform for influential voices, underscoring a larger goal of widening representation in publishing and opening doors for a broader range of storytellers.

First Titles Are Already in Development

WhoopInk is not starting from scratch. Projects are already underway, including work tied to Rick Bleiweiss, a Blackstone executive who previously collaborated with Goldberg on her memoir, Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me. His next mystery novel in the Pignon Scorbion and the Barbershop Detectives series is expected to be among the imprint’s early releases.

Goldberg also plans to publish more of her own work through the imprint, including a follow up to Bits and Pieces, which has already found commercial success and is now being released in paperback.

WhoopInk Joins a Growing Celebrity Publishing Trend

Goldberg’s new imprint places her among a growing group of well known figures entering the publishing business in more direct ways.

Other high profile names, including Sarah Jessica Parker, John Legend, and Questlove, have launched their own imprints, while figures like Reese Witherspoon and Dua Lipa have built major influence through book clubs and reader communities.

Best known for her decades long acting career and television presence, Goldberg now appears ready to use that influence to help shape what reaches bookshelves next. With WhoopInk, the focus is not just on publishing books, but on making more room for voices that have too often been sidelined.
