The City Is Lifting Park Curfew to Accommodate Easter Celebrations Across Multiple Locations

According to the Parks and Recreation Department, curfew restrictions will be lifted starting at 11 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, and will remain in effect until 11 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 5.
The annual tradition gives families and community groups space to gather, celebrate, and camp overnight in designated public parks.

Park Stewardship teams and volunteers will also be on-site to provide additional trash bags and promote recycling.
BBQ And Fire Safety Guidelines
The San Antonio Fire Department is reminding residents to follow basic safety practices while grilling:
• Never leave a lit grill unattended
• Keep children and pets away from grills
• Do not move a hot or lit grill
• Only use approved starter fluid for charcoal grills
• Never add flammable liquids to an active fire
• Do not use water on grease fires—call 911 if needed
• Fully extinguish coals and safely dispose of ashes
Residents are also encouraged to avoid loose clothing near grills and properly wrap cooled ashes before disposal.
Volunteer Opportunities Available
Community members looking to give back can volunteer for litter pickup efforts throughout the Easter weekend.
City officials say the annual curfew lift is both a celebration and a shared responsibility, encouraging residents to enjoy the parks while helping maintain them for everyone.
