Amazon Aims to Hire 250,000 Holiday Season Workers, Same as 2024, Reflecting Continuing E-commerce Boom
Amazon announced plans to hire 250,000 workers for the 2025 holiday season, matching its hiring surge from the past two years. The new hires will support the company’s U.S. fulfillment centers and transportation network as online shopping demand peaks during the holidays.
Pay Raises and Expanded Benefits for Workers
Seasonal employees are set to earn an average of more than $19 per hour, while full- and part-time positions start at $23 and include healthcare, retirement plans, and tuition assistance. The announcement comes after Amazon’s recent $1 billion investment aimed at boosting worker pay and lowering healthcare costs across its U.S. operations.
Maintaining Competitive Edge in Tight Labor Market
With consumer spending expected to rise during the holiday season, the move signals Amazon’s continued effort to attract and retain workers in a competitive labor market while ensuring faster delivery and smoother logistics during one of the busiest times of the year.
