Mission Marquee Plaza Continues Free Outdoor Family Film Series Through November
Families looking for affordable summer entertainment have several opportunities to enjoy free movies under the stars as the 2026 Outdoor Family Film Series continues at Mission Marquee Plaza.
Presented by H-E-B, the popular series features community-selected films and takes place every first and third Saturday of the month through November, along with every third Thursday through October. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets for an evening of family-friendly entertainment.
The venue opens at 7 p.m. from May through September and at 6 p.m. from October through November. Movies begin shortly after dusk.
Special America 250 Celebration Planned
One of the highlights of the upcoming schedule will be a special screening of “Hamilton” on Saturday, June 27, as part of the nationwide America 250 celebration recognizing the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.
The event will also feature a performance by Wonder Theatre, adding a live entertainment component to the evening’s festivities.

Mission Marquee Plaza is located at 3100 Roosevelt Avenue on San Antonio’s South Side.
The venue offers on-site parking and is pet-friendly, making it easy for families to bring the entire household for an evening outdoors.
Organizers say the film selections were chosen based on recommendations submitted by community members earlier this year, helping create a lineup designed to appeal to audiences of all ages.
Residents can attend one movie or make it a summer tradition as the free series continues through the fall season.
