Turning Point USA Will Host Rival To Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show

AT A GLANCE

  • Turning Point USA will host a rival “All-American Halftime Show” on Feb. 8, 2026, the same day as the Super Bowl.
  • The conservative group says the event will celebrate “faith, family, and freedom.”
  • The move follows MAGA backlash against the NFL’s selection of Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny as the halftime headliner.
  • Details on performers and broadcast plans have not yet been announced.

Turning Point USA Sets “All American” Super Bowl Halftime Show

Turning Point USA, the conservative activist network founded by the late Charlie Kirk, announced plans to host a rival event to Bad Bunny’s 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, aiming to promote what it calls “faith, family, and freedom.”

The “All-American Halftime Show” will take place on Feb. 8, the same night as the official NFL broadcast, though Turning Point has not yet revealed where or how the show will be streamed. The group has launched a website survey asking fans to choose their preferred music genres — options include country, classic rock, hip-hop, pop, worship, or “anything in English.”

Bad Bunny’s Selection Sparks Conservative Outrage

Bad Bunny, one of the world’s most streamed artists, was tapped by the NFL and Apple Music to headline next year’s halftime performance. The decision drew immediate backlash from MAGA-aligned figures who criticized the league for selecting a Puerto Rican artist who has expressed concerns over U.S. immigration policies.

In past interviews, Bad Bunny said he avoided touring in the continental U.S. due to fears that his shows might be targeted by federal immigration authorities under the Trump administration. He also threw subtle jabs at critics during a Saturday Night Live monologue, quipping in Spanish that they should “learn the language.”

Political Counterprogramming Takes the Stage

Counterprogramming during the Super Bowl is nothing new — past alternatives have included the “Puppy Bowl” and wrestling specials — but Turning Point USA’s effort marks one of the first politically motivated halftime competitors.

The move comes just weeks after the group resumed its college campus tour following the fatal shooting of founder Charlie Kirk. The organization, now helmed by other MAGA-aligned leaders, continues to brand its events under the slogan “This is the Turning Point.”
