Annual Inflation Rate Hits 2.7% as Medical, Food Costs Increase Slightly
Data shared by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Tuesday show that the consumer price index rose by 0.3% on a month-over-month basis, putting the 12-month inflation rate at 2.7%.
The cost of furniture and clothes increased by 0.1% in June, while car prices unexpectedly fell by 0.3%. Additionally, prices on food and medical care services increased by 0.3% and 0.6%, respectively.
