Baseball’s Biggest Week Lands in Atlanta
Major League Baseball is bringing the 2025 All-Star Game to Atlanta’s Truist Park. The city was originally set to host in 2021, but the game was pulled after backlash over Georgia’s voting laws. Now, Atlanta gets a long-awaited shot to host one of baseball’s biggest weeks.
This will be the third time Atlanta hosts the Midsummer Classic but the first at Truist Park, which opened in 2017.
A Full Week of Events
The All-Star Game is scheduled for JULY 15, 2025, but festivities begin JULY 11. Events include the HBCU Swingman Classic, All-Star Futures Game, Celebrity Softball Game, MLB Draft, and the Home Run Derby.
A global event, Home Run Derby X, will also be featured, alongside the All-Star Village fan experience at Cobb Galleria. A special 4.4-mile race honoring Hank Aaron is also planned.
MLB Tests New Pitch Challenge System
MLB will introduce the Automated Balls and Strikes (ABS) challenge system during the All-Star Game. Players will get two challenges per plate appearance to dispute ball and strike calls using Hawk-Eye technology.
Truist Park has been upgraded with a 121-foot video board, new LED displays, and enhanced lighting to elevate the fan experience.
Entertainment and Media
Georgia’s own Jermaine Dupri and Ludacris will perform during All-Star week. Additionally, The Pat McAfee Show will broadcast live from The Battery Atlanta during the Home Run Derby.
Economic Impact and Ticket Prices
Tickets start around $363, with premium seating up to $5,600. Officials estimate a $50 million economic impact for Cobb County driven by tourism, events, and local spending.
A City Ready to Shine
Braves President Derek Schiller said Atlanta is “honored” to host, highlighting the venue’s readiness. After the 2021 controversy, the city is prepared to deliver a week that celebrates both baseball and Atlanta’s cultural legacy.
