Free Spring Swim Lessons Open at San Antonio Public Pool

SA Parks & Rec Offers Free Spring Swim Lessons for All Ages

San Antonio Parks & Recreation is offering free Spring Swim Lessons for children and adults at Atanacio Garcia Natatorium as part of its seasonal aquatics programming.

The spring session includes free group swim lessons designed to help participants build water confidence and learn foundational swimming skills ahead of the warmer months. Lessons are available for a wide range of ages, from infants and preschoolers to school-age children and adults.

Group Lessons

Group lessons are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the early evening and run in multiple sessions beginning in February and continuing through April. Instruction is structured by age and skill level, allowing participants to progress at an appropriate pace.

Age groups include Parent & Tot classes for infants and toddlers, preschool-level instruction for younger children, Learn-to-Swim levels for elementary-age participants, and adult lessons for teens and adults seeking beginner instruction or skill refreshers.

Private Swim Lessons

In addition to the free group lessons, private swim lessons are also available for a fee on select days for those interested in one-on-one instruction.

Registration is required, and space is limited. Families and individuals are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot in the spring sessions. Additional details, including session dates and registration information, are available through the City of San Antonio Parks & Recreation Department.
