Spurs Fall to Pelicans 104–95 as Cold Shooting Night Halts Momentum

Pelicans Squander 20-Point Lead, Rebound to Beat Spurs 104-95

The Spurs took the night off last night as they fell to the Pelicans 104-95 at the Frost Bank Center. The team is 16-6 at home on the season.

Saddiq Bey and Zion Williamson each had 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Pelicans who led by as many as 20 points. San Antonio opened the fourth quarter 24-5 but New Orleans closed the game on a 17-3 run to avoid a season sweep by the Spurs.

On a night that saw temps in the 20’s it was just as chilly inside the arena for the Silver and Black. The team was 12-44 (27%) from beyond the arc and an abysmal 19-32 (59%) from the charity stripe.

V-Dub led the Spurs with 16 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks but struggled going 6-16 from the field and 2-10 from distance.  Keldon Johnson added 15 points off the bench. Despite V-Dubs four blocks the Spurs gave up 56 points in the paint and were outrebounded 58-36 including 19-10 on the offensive glass.

Devin Vassell made his return to the lineup from a left hip adductor strain. He had 13 points on 5-12 shots from the field and 2-8 from three in 25 minutes. The Spurs had their entire rotation available for the first time since Dec. 29

The team is now 7-6 in the month of January after a league best 11-3 in December to close out 2025.
