USPS Honors Muhammad Ali With Forever Stamps

Muhammad Ali Immortalized on USPS Forever Stamps

The U.S. Postal Service will honor boxing legend and humanitarian Muhammad Ali with two Forever stamps celebrating his life, legacy, and global impact. Known to the world as “The Greatest,” Ali was not only a champion in the ring but a fearless voice for justice, faith, and humanity beyond it.

Ali once joked, “I should be a postage stamp, because that’s the only way I’ll ever get licked.” Now, that moment has arrived. Born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. in Louisville, Kentucky, Ali became a three-time heavyweight champion and one of the most influential cultural figures of the 20th century.

The free, public first-day-of-issue ceremony will take place Thursday, January 15, 2026, at noon EST at the University of Louisville’s L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium, inside the Angel’s Envy Bourbon Club. The event will be led by Ronald A. Stroman, a member of the USPS Board of Governors.

Ali’s impact reached far beyond boxing. He stood firmly for peace, civil rights, and religious freedom, and his humanitarian work spanned continents. In 1998, he was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace, and in 2005, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The stamps serve as a lasting tribute to a man whose courage, compassion, and conviction continue to inspire the world.
