No Kings Alliance Urges Starbucks Boycott as Strike Expands

No Kings Alliance Mobilizes Behind Striking Starbucks Baristas, Urges ‘No Coffee, No Contract’ Pledge

A nationwide Starbucks strike stretching across more than 40 cities is growing into what could become the largest work stoppage in the company’s history. As baristas walk out, the No Kings Alliance is calling on consumers to support workers by taking the “No Coffee, No Contract” pledge and avoiding Starbucks until a fair agreement is reached.

For four years, Starbucks Workers United has led a historic union effort, even as the company faces more federal labor law violations than any corporation in the U.S. Workers say conditions remain unchanged while executive pay soars. In 2024, Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol earned $96 million in just 120 days, a salary 6,666 times higher than the average barista.

“We’re sick of Starbucks executives seeking to lord over our workplaces, ignore our basic needs, and break labor law,” said Diego Franco, a barista in Chicago. “Allies like the No Kings Alliance are helping power our movement forward.”

Striking workers are demanding better pay, reliable scheduling, and the resolution of hundreds of outstanding unfair labor practice cases tied to union busting. The No Kings Alliance plans to roll out ongoing direct-action opportunities while urging the public to stand with workers on the picket line.
