Mary J. Blige Concert Film Brings Madison Square Garden Show to Theaters
Mary J. Blige is turning her Madison Square Garden stage into a cinematic experience. The Grammy and Emmy-winning “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul” announced her first concert film, Mary J. Blige: For My Fans, Live From Madison Square Garden, will screen exclusively in theaters on Nov. 5 and 8.
The film captures her sold-out performance from April, part of her For My Fans tour — a nationwide run designed as a thank-you to longtime supporters through “storytelling, vulnerability and celebration.”
“Being able to share this moment globally with my fans, who can experience this together in a movie theater, is more special than I can put into words,” Blige said. “This tour was always for my fans, and being able to make this into a movie for them means the world.”
From Stage to Screen: A Celebration of Legacy
The concert showcases highlights from Blige’s three-decade career, including iconic anthems like “Be Without You,” “Family Affair,” and “No More Drama,” alongside new music from her 15th studio album, Gratitude, released last year. The film also features behind-the-scenes footage and surprise guest appearances.
“Mary J. Blige has always represented the heart and soul of New York, and her Madison Square Garden performance reflects that,” said Kymberli Frueh, executive vice president of programming and content acquisitions at Trafalgar Releasing, which is distributing the film. “We’re proud to share this historic hometown concert with audiences around the world through the magic of cinema.”
