Federal, State And County Runoffs Put Texas Voters Back At The Polls
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 26, for Texas’ primary runoff election.
Bexar County voters will decide several federal, state and county runoff races, depending on their party ballot and home address. Runoff elections happen when no candidate in a primary race receives enough votes to win outright, sending the top two candidates into a final contest.
Voters should remember that not every race appears on every ballot. The precinct where a person is registered determines which races they are eligible to vote in.
For more information, voters can visit the Bexar County Elections Office website or contact them at 210 335 VOTE.

What Voters Should Know Before Heading To The Polls
Bexar County voters should check their individual sample ballot before voting, since the races available to them depend on their party ballot and precinct.
The Bexar County Elections Office reminds voters that a generic ballot does not mean every race will appear for every voter. A person’s registered precinct determines which races they can vote in.
Voters who participated in one party’s primary earlier this year cannot vote in another party’s runoff election for the same election cycle. For example, a voter who voted in the Democratic primary must vote in the Democratic runoff if they choose to vote in the runoff.
This story will be updated as Bexar County and statewide runoff results become available. Check back after 7 p.m. for results on key Texas runoff races.
