Free Events Take The Cake On This Week’s Lineup
San Antonio has another light week ahead, with a several free and a few discounted ways to get out of the house, enjoy the warmer evenings before the heat really settles in and ease into the unofficial start of summer.
Don’t forget city splash pads are free and open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Hemisfair’s splash pad offers another easy downtown stop for families looking to cool off before Memorial Day weekend arrives next.

2026 Summer Youth Program

The City of San Antonio’s Summer Youth Program returns with activities for kids and teens at various locations throughout the summer. Registration began April 18 but the books are still open. Click here for registration, cost and location details.
2026 Summer Teen Club
Where: Garza Community Center, Frank Garrett Multi-Service Center, South San Community Center and Woodard Community Center | When: June 1-July 31, dates vary by location | 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Teens ages 13-17 can join the free Summer Teen Club for STEAM activities, esports, sports, fitness, fine arts and special programming. Lunch and snacks are included. Register online or at a participating community center.

Tejano Conjunto Festival
Where: Rosedale Park | When: May 15 Through May 17
The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center presents the 44th Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival, recognized as the longest running conjunto festival in the world. The festival celebrates conjunto music, Tejano traditions and generations of musicians who have helped shape the sound of San Antonio and South Texas.

Outdoor Family Film Series: How to Train Your Dragon

Mission Marquee Plaza’s free outdoor movie series continues with How to Train Your Dragon. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnics and snacks, with local food trucks also on-site.

Picnic & A Movie In The Eastside Cemeteries
