Jordan Chiles Floor Routine Sets 2026 New Year Tone With Star Power

Jordan Chiles is already setting the tone for 2026.

On Sunday, the 24-year-old Olympic gold medalist debuted a brand-new floor routine at UCLA’s NCAA season opener during the Best of the West quad meet hosted by the University of Washington. Set to a high-energy, feel-good medley featuring music from Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, and Tina Turner, the performance earned Chiles a 9.925 and an immediate eruption from the crowd.

In a video shared by UCLA Bruins gymnastics, Chiles opens the routine with confident prancing steps and tumbling passes set to “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” before transitioning into Janet Jackson’s “What Have You Done For Me Lately.”

From there, she leans fully into her signature style—blending personality-packed dance moments with sharp, precise gymnastics. Spin leaps slice through the air, floor-level choreography hits cleanly, and playful air-guitar accents punctuate the routine before she launches into a powerful tumbling sequence. She finishes with a lighthearted shuffle kick as “River Deep – Mountain High” brings the routine home, while teammates dance and cheer from the sidelines.

UCLA Gymnastics celebrated the moment online, writing that Chiles’ new floor routine for 2026 “will absolutely remind you that she is still 100% THAT GIRL.”

The debut comes just weeks after Chiles wrapped her run as a finalist on Dancing With the Stars, where her modern, exuberant dance style quickly made her a fan favorite. One of the season’s standout moments came when Normani surprised viewers by joining Chiles during a routine set to her song. While she ultimately finished third when the season ended in November, the experience only sharpened the performance quality now on full display in NCAA competition.

“The balance has really been crazy,” Chiles told People magazine at the time. “But I think really having the support system that’s really been there—whether it’s my PR team, management, my agency, my partner on DWTS, my teammates, my coaches—just having people keep reassuring me that it’s okay to have tired days.”

With the dance floor behind her, the NCAA gymnastics season is now fully underway. Chiles opened the year by placing first in every event she competed in, winning the all-around title and leading UCLA to victory.

Fans will get another chance to see the routine live on Saturday, Jan. 17, when UCLA hosts Nebraska at its home opener.
