January Has Plenty of Events in S.A. to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Legacy
The San Antonio MLK Commission and community organizations have many events planned as we enter January honoring the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebrating and honoring the legacy of Dr. King reminds us to honor his sacrifices and accomplishments while continuously introducing the younger generation to a life that was dedicated to the nonviolent struggle for civil rights in the United States. King’s leadership played a pivotal role in ending entrenched segregation for African Americans and to the creation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, considered a crowning achievement of the civil rights era.
Attending an event in honor of MLK will leave you with a sense of connection and inspiration to our history as humans. We encourage everyone to remember the life he lived through attending events planned while also displaying the kind of character and work that Dr. King spent his life showing for all of us in the generations he knew were coming.
