Saisd Students and Staff Will Volunteer at Alamo Stadium to Serve 800 Families Ahead of Spring Break
As SAISD Spring Break approaches, March 9–13, 2026, the San Antonio Independent School District is stepping in to help families bridge the gap.
On Wednesday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., SAISD students and employees will volunteer at Alamo Stadium, located at 110 Tuleta Drive, to distribute food to approximately 800 families.
District leaders say the initiative reflects an understanding that access to nutritious meals can become more challenging when school is out of session.
Through its partnership with the San Antonio Food Bank, SAISD is working to ensure families have the resources they need before students head into Spring Break.
The mega distribution is part of SAISD’s ongoing Systems of Care efforts, a broader district strategy focused on supporting the overall well-being of students and their families beyond the classroom.
Families seeking additional support or information on upcoming free community events are encouraged to visit the SAISD Systems of Care Resource Hub at www.saisdcares.net.
For many families, initiatives like this are more than a one-day event — they are a reminder that schools often serve as community anchors, providing stability and support when it’s needed most.
