Windcrest’s Kaleidoscope of Color / 2021: A Christmas Odyssey begins December 4th with one resident being filmed to win a $50 prize

If you did not know about the lights at Windcrest, now you do and you must see to believe!  The city of Windcrest has been traditionally lit up into a neighborhood winter wonderland where you can stop and take a family photo at homes decorated with a ‘selfie station’ for visitors.  Or you can burn some calories as you tune your radio to the station displayed in front of a decorated home and dance to the beat of the lights from the inside of your car.  Windcrest is very Covid friendly!  You drive along the path of cars looking at rows and rows of beautifully decorated homes while seeing which home received what awards.  Some awards include: The new award ‘The People’s Choice Award’, Religious, Joyful, Nostalgic/Handcrafted, Clark Griswold, Martha Steward would be Proud, Cul-de-sac/Block, Charlie Browniest and Church/School/Business.

This year’s display is called the ‘City of Windcrest 63rd Annual Light Up: A Kaleidoscope of Color, 2021: A Christmas Odyssey.  Let’s remember that the home owned by John and Brenda Wilson at 405 Waycrest Dr were documented and filmed to be one of four families on an episode of “The Great Christmas Light Fight, 2021 Contender” for a chance at a $50,000 prize.  Windcrest’s theme of, `Kaleidoscope of Color/ 2921: A Christmas Odyssey”.  If you live in Windcrest- light up for the holidays!

The city of Windcrest lights begin December 4th where the public can get their map at any of the 3 entrances to the city on Crestway, I35 frontage road or Eagle Crest.  Map sales benefit the Volunteer Fire Association and local non-profits.
