The Bible that was Changed to Enslave
The Bible that was used by slave masters against Black people was purposefully reduced to remove any section that spoke about justice. The title of this corrupted Bible was, “Select Parts of the Holy Bible for Use of the Negro Slaves.” This Bible was introduced in 1807 in England for use in the Caribbean and later in the United States. It was shamefully written by slave owners who grew fearful after the Black revolution in Haiti in which fighting enslaved people defeated the greatest army in the world at that time—the French army of Napoleon. Savage slave owners in the Caribbean and in America were scared stiff at the prospect that the victory in Haiti would inspire slave revolts across the Americas. Black people eventually became aware of this trick and wondered where the real Bible was.
The Anglican Bishop of London edited the Bible of any verse that could inspire insurrection and war against white supremacy and slavery. According to Joseph Lumpkin, a famous scholar, who discovered one of only a few copies of this horrid attempt, pointed out that, “In an 1846 speech . . . Frederick Douglass summed up the twisted bond between slavery and religion in the U.S. He began with a short summary of atrocities . . . including hanging, beheading, drawing and quartering, rape, and this is not the worst.” The use of this corrupted Bible was designed to make slaves docile by emphasizing some parts of the Bible and ignoring others. The fact that in John 7:24 one can judge another as long as the judgement is righteous and not by appearance was removed. Unfortunately, many Christians still ignore this passage or simply do not know about it. This is what they removed from John 7:24: King James Version … “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.”
The slave masters eliminated 36 chapters in Genesis, 38 chapters in Exodus, all of Leviticus, all of Numbers, 26 chapters in Deuteronomy, all of Joshua, Judges, and Ruth, all of John, most of both Corinthians, and all three of John. There are many more chapters is this slave bible that were eliminated providing proof positive that the so-called Christian leaders of that time did not even believe in the Bible themselves but saw it as only a tradition to be followed and used to control black people. The biblical distorters even tried to make people believe that the curse Noah placed on Ham was directed against Black people. These racist false teachers twisted the Bible to perpetuate white supremacy and human bondage.
White supremacy corrupted the Bible for use in the depraved and cruel system of Black slavery. Millions of slaves were prevented from reading the entire Bible so that only the chapters that were useful to racist tyrants was included. It was designed for purposes that ignored the messages of Jesus and was a white terrorist use of religion to justify slavery. Hence, the New Testament is mostly ignored and all of the chapters and verses were used in one way or another to justify the fake Christians of that era. We still have these fake Christians and Trump Nazis screaming and hollering crazed ideas. However, those who read the Bible in its entirety went on to use it to fight slavery. Frederick Douglass and Nat Turner were such men, as was David Walker, John Brown, and others. The slaves from Africa built America as well as Naïve People and it was not the fake Frontiersmen that are often lionized.
