Wheatley Park Update Since Crash Of A/C

Update: Wheatley Park Senior Living Facility Issues

As more media attention has been given to the air conditioning problems, at this complex, it appears considerable progress is being made and cooler temperatures are now prevailing in a number of units, on both the second and third floors.

Open discussions, between a group of residents and facilities management representatives has led to contractors coming in, since June 26, and doing a huge job, of locating leaks, shutting those down and apparently adding refrigerant to the system, which appears has caused an increase to the much needed relief we all have been seeking.

Going forward, a corporate representative has indicated that they will be “assembling a team to address a laundry list” of residents issues, including security, pest control, safety and have plans for a community meeting, to foster better communication between residents and management.

With the major issue, of the air conditioning repair, having been addressed (some things are still being worked out), residents are looking ahead to the opportunity to present their remaining issues, hopefully, for as successful resolution.

Residents are seeking more collaboration, coming to a consensus and obtaining a commitment for a greater level of communication, with problems being identified and getting quickly resolved.

With these efforts, we hope we make a contribution to improving the quality of life for our community.
