What Happened To Jarvis McIntyre During His Birthday Weekend In San Antonio?

What Happened To Jarvis McIntyre?

In 2022, according to data provided by the Black & Missing Foundation, 546,568 persons were reported missing in 2022. Of that, 39% were minorities. According to Census.gov, nearly 40 percent of missing persons are persons of color, yet, African-Americans make up only 13 percent of the population. Thousands of people are reported missing every year in the U.S. and not every case gets widespread attention.

The body of 26 year old missing Navy veteran Jarvis McIntyre is believed to be identified. According to a 2024 Kens 5 report, McIntyre’s body was found at John James Park at Holland and Rittman Road Friday Morning. After speaking with the Bexar County Medical Examiner, Monikki Williams Tippet, mother of Jarvis McIntyre, was able to base her identification on the tattoos on the body that match that of her son’s. No official statement has been released to confirm the body is indeed McIntyre and Tippet is asking anyone with any information about his death to come forward.

The 26 year old St. Louis native had come to San Antonio to visit relatives for his birthday weekend. He would have been 27 on June 10th. Tippet told Kens 5 she had been informed by the Police that McIntyre made a 911 call and was last seen running in a park last Sunday afternoon. McIntyre reportedly called a person chasing him a “racist.”

McIntyre’s family later flew down during the week and gathered at the park with balloons to pay tribute to him. The family believes McIntyre was targeted because of his skin color or his sexual orientation. Tippet told KENS5 her son enjoyed standing out and being different. “I want answers now. I want this person found,” Tippet said, ““He didn’t deserve this. They took my baby’s life for no reason”.
