Voters Approve Nearly $1 Billion Bond for Alamo Colleges District, Largest in History
Bexar County voters have approved a $987 million bond for the Alamo Colleges District—the largest in its history. The money will go toward building new facilities, upgrading campuses, and expanding workforce training programs.
“This is a transformative moment… an investment in our students, stronger families, and a more prosperous future for Bexar County,” said Chancellor Dr. Mike Flores.
The bond will fund:
- New centers for trades like construction, manufacturing, and auto tech
- Technology and infrastructure upgrades
- Programs in healthcare, IT, engineering, and cybersecurity
New schools are planned at Port San Antonio, Brooks, and the South Texas Medical Center to train students for high-demand, good-paying careers.
This bond aims to meet the needs of a growing population and connect more residents to education and opportunity.
