Spooky Fun Run at the Annual Boos & Brews 5K Presented by Texas Brewery Running Series
Mark your calendars for October 26, 2024, as the Texas Brewery Running Series brings back the highly anticipated Boos & Brews 5K for its third year! This Halloween-themed fun run invites participants of all fitness levels to join in for a casual, untimed 5K run, jog, walk, or even a zombie shuffle along San Antonio’s beautiful Mission Reach of the Riverwalk.
Event Details: Run, Walk, or Shuffle in Costume
The 5k kicks off at 11 AM at Freetail Brewing’s South Presa Brewpub (2000 S Presa), where runners will start and finish the course. Costumes are encouraged to add to the Halloween fun, but not mandatory. There will be a post-run spooktacular costume contest, so be sure to bring your best Halloween look!
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just want to have fun with family and friends, the Boos & Brews 5K welcomes participants of all ages. This is a laid-back event that’s all about having a good time, staying active, and celebrating Halloween in a unique way.
Give Back to the Community with Every Step
At the heart of the Texas Brewery Running Series is the mission to give back to local communities. In keeping with this tradition, 10% of the event proceeds will be donated to the San Antonio Food Bank. Over the past 12 years, this initiative has raised over $500,000 for local nonprofits across the nation. Additionally, a food drive will be held at the event—each non-perishable food item you bring earns you a raffle ticket for the Hunger Fighters Raffle, providing even more incentive to contribute to this worthy cause.
The Brewery Running Series began in 2012 in Minneapolis with the goal of promoting healthy living, supporting local breweries, and raising funds for community nonprofits. Now active in 21 states, this series hosts over 300 events annually.
The Texas Brewery Running Series launched in 2017, originally focusing on Austin’s vibrant brewing scene. Since then, it has expanded to include other areas across Texas, such as San Antonio, New Braunfels, Boerne, and Corpus Christi, with plans for further growth throughout the state.
