Gov. Abbott’s Texas AG replacement offers Texans Zero Hope
The impeachment of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton brought a glimmer of hope as members from both parties united to ensure accountability for corrupt conduct. However, this optimistic sentiment was short-lived. Governor Abbott’s selection of John Scott as Paxton’s replacement dashed our hopes, as Scott’s track record of representing Donald Trump and his denial of the 2020 election’s validity make him just as dangerous as his predecessor. Without a change in leadership, we cannot expect any meaningful transformation.
To combat this, we are redoubling our efforts to foster greater civic engagement among the youth of Texas. Recognizing that it is the only pathway to a different future for our state, we are committed to empowering young Texans to actively participate in shaping our political landscape. By encouraging their involvement, we aim to pave the way for positive change and a brighter future for Texas.
