Sue Bird Becomes First Player in WNBA History to Receive Statue

Sue Bird is set to become the first player to be honored with a statue by a WNBA franchise. The Seattle Storm announced they’re unveiling the legend’s figurine on Aug. 17 outside of Climate Pledge Arena.

Selected No. 1 overall in the 2022 WNBA Draft, Bird spent her entire 21-season career with the Storm, winning four championships and becoming a 13-time All-Star. Bird had her No. 10 jersey retired by the team in 2023.
