Finishing with 32 points– Totaling to 25,017; He is the 26th Player to Score 25,000 Career Points
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has officially cemented his place among the NBA’s all-time scoring elite, becoming just the 26th player in league history to surpass 25,000 career points. He reached the milestone during the third quarter of the Warriors’ 115-110 win over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night.
Milestone Moment Comes in Warriors Victory
Curry hit the 25,000-point mark with a signature 3-pointer at the 8:32 mark of the third quarter. The home crowd gave him a warm ovation when the accomplishment was recognized during a timeout with 5:42 left in the game. He ended the night with 32 points — bringing his career total to 25,017 — on 8-of-22 shooting, including four 3-pointers and a perfect 12-for-12 from the free-throw line.
Curry Celebrates with a Nod to Draymond Green
After the game, Curry shouted “BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!” while heading back through the tunnel — a playful tribute to teammate Draymond Green, who’s known for yelling “boom” after making a three. Fittingly, Green hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 35 seconds remaining and later secured the game ball for Curry. But Curry joked that Green would probably keep it, saying, “He’s going to keep it for me. I heard he has a little bit of KD’s memorabilia,” referencing former teammate Kevin Durant.
A Surprise Milestone for the Warriors Legend
Curry admitted he wasn’t tracking the milestone during the game. “It was a surprise actually,” he said. “I knew I was close, but didn’t think about it until I heard it in-game. Tim Roye [Warriors broadcaster] told me after that only 10 guys have done it with one franchise — that’s really special.”
Up next on Curry’s milestone radar: becoming the first NBA player to make 4,000 career 3-pointers. He added four more on Saturday and now needs just seven to hit that mark.
Coach Steve Kerr Praises Curry’s Impact
Even on a night when Curry’s shooting was off, head coach Steve Kerr praised his ability to dominate in other ways. “It feels like 25,000 3s,” Kerr joked. “Even when his shot’s not falling, he plays through fatigue, draws contact, and finds ways to impact the game. That’s what makes him one of the greats.”
