Spurs End Preseason 5-0, Eyes Set on Mavericks Opener
The Spurs defeated the Indiana Pacers 133-104 Friday night at the Frost Bank Center to close out the preseason.
The team finished the preseason with a perfect 5-0 record. V-Dub led the way for the Silver and Black with averages of 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks per contest. He also shot a whopping 66% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc in the five preseason matchups.
The squad as a team was third in scoring at 124 points per game while only giving up 107 points which ranked seventh in the preseason.
Eyes on the Regular Season Opener
The Spurs kickoff the 2025-26 season Wednesday on the road against in-state rivals the Dallas Mavericks. They will be without starting point guard De’Aaron Fox for the opener due to a hamstring injury. Fox, who signed a 4-year $229 million maximum contract extension with the franchise this offseason, is slated to return on November 2.
The V-Dub Era Poised for Takeoff
As we enter year three of the V-Dub era, this year’s rendition of the Spurs is poised to end the team’s five-year playoff drought. The team has the right mix of youth and veteran presence to win games that were for certain losses in years past. Coach Mitch Johnson, in his first full season at the helm, will be key to guiding this team to prosperity.
