Shaboozey Launches American Dogwood Label

From Chart-Topper to Label Founder — Shaboozey Starts American Dogwood

Shaboozey, the Virginia-born Nigerian American artist behind the 2024 hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” has expanded his career by launching his own record label. The new imprint, American Dogwood, is created in partnership with EMPIRE and focuses on signing artists who push genre boundaries, much like Shaboozey himself.

The first artist signed to the label is Kevin Powers, a rising songwriter and performer with viral success and co-writing credits alongside Shaboozey. To mark the launch, the two released a collaborative single, “Move On,” in September 2025.

With American Dogwood, Shaboozey adds label founder to his growing résumé, following the breakout success of his third studio album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going and his record-tying Billboard Hot 100 run with “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”
