The Barbara “Robbie” Robinette Community & Senior Center
San Antonio just got a little brighter with the grand opening of the Barbara “Robbie” Robinette Community & Senior Center, the city’s 12th comprehensive senior facility. Located on the Southside, this $14.2 million, 17,000-square-foot center promises to be a one-stop hub for residents of all ages to stay active, engaged, and connected.
Not Just For Seniors
For older adults aged 60 and up, the center offers a range of wellness activities, from fitness and dance classes to creative writing and tech lessons. There’s also a noontime meal program, health screenings, recreational activities like bingo and billiards, and even field trips. And for those living within five miles who can’t drive, transportation services are available to ensure everyone can join in the fun.
But the Robinette Center isn’t just for seniors. The Parks & Recreation Department is rolling out programs for all ages, including youth sports leagues, summer camps, fine arts classes, and even science and nature activities. Whether you’re a teenager exploring your creativity or a senior sharpening your ping-pong skills, there’s something here for everyone.
