Black Business San Antonio, Inc. Celebrates San Antonio Black Men in Business for International Men’s Day 2023
This past Sunday Black Business San Antonio, Inc. celebrated Black Men in Business for International Men’s Day 2023.
The goal? To honor and recognize Black Men who own businesses and set an example for the community; while spotlighting vendors, food and products.
Black-owned businesses hold immense potential for transforming communities and addressing economic disparities. They provide a platform for entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and wealth creation within the Black community.
Recent census data shows that there are 3.12 million Black-owned businesses in the U. S., generating $206 billion in annual revenue and supporting 3.56 million U.S. jobs. That’s millions of people filling the needs of our local communities and creating jobs for workers of all backgrounds.
A room full of people gathered inside of Midtown Lounge to celebrate and honor 18 Black business owners in our community.
Black Business San Antonio is a platform for business owners to get education, exposure, resources and support. They provide business classes, workshops, events and a business hub for meetings, mail, printing and day to day work.
This was their second annual event to honor men in business. The event was held at a venue owned by Fernando Rover Sr.; a Black business man who continues to giveback to his community.
The night was very uplifting to see. Black Business San Antonio’s CEO and founder, Nneka Cleaver, said,
“The reality is that when the world discusses Black Men, it is usually in a negative light. We want to do things that spotlight our wins, achievements and the various products and services that our community provides.
This past week we had the chance to see people celebrate our men. Connections were made, new things were discovered, friendships were created and people were inspired.”
We look forward to checking out the 3rd Annual event next year but until then; you can find more great events like this one at BlackBizSA.com
