2026 San Antonio Sports All-Star Basketball Games, Sponsored by Valero, Reveal Coaching Lineup and Event Details

San Antonio Sports has announced the official coaching lineup for the 2026 San Antonio Sports All-Star Basketball Games presented by Valero. The annual showcase returns Sunday, April 12, to the Northside Sports Gym, bringing together 120 of the region’s top high school senior athletes for a packed day of competition and celebration.

This year’s format features Team Blue vs. Team White in two divisions—1A–5A and 6A—representing both public and private schools. Each division includes both a girls and boys game. Between the afternoon and evening sessions, fans can look forward to an all-star skills challenge and a three-point contest. All games will be broadcast live on KSAT 12. Official rosters will be revealed and tickets will go on sale in late January.

Returning coaches from last year’s games include Jaclyn Contreras (Brennan) and Andrew Brewer (Alamo Heights). They are joined by six new coaches selected for their leadership and community impact: Vanessa Villarreal (Southwest), Ike Thornton (Smithson Valley), Lonny Hubbard (Steele), Ernest Lopez (McCollum), Stephanie Desmarais (Johnson), and Noe Cantu (Judson).

High school coaches across the region may nominate up to two players for the 1A–5A divisions and three players for the 6A games. Additional nominations may be submitted for the skills challenge and the three-point contest. A selection committee made up of sports media, scouts, and former coaches will review and select the final rosters in mid-January.

San Antonio Sports emphasized the growing success of the All-Star Games. From the 2025 showcase, 62 athletes are currently playing collegiate basketball, 108 earned all-district honors, and eight received scholarship offers directly from coaches who attended the games.

“Our region continues to produce exceptional basketball talent,” said Jenny Carnes, President & CEO of San Antonio Sports. “The San Antonio Sports All-Star Basketball Games presented by Valero is a great showcase of the hard work, skill and passion these student athletes bring to the court and in their communities.”

The April games remain one of the most anticipated youth sports events in the region, celebrating the power of teamwork, athletic excellence, and the deep spirit of San Antonio basketball.
