Racial Caste, White Supremacy, and Donald Trump
With the killing of Jacob Blake (shot in the back) by police officers and the arrest of a Black jogger in San Antonio the rules of racism are continually being enforced. Trump’s hatred, of almost everything under the sun, except himself, fuels the hatred and we can rest assured that SAPD officers that support Trump are out there and are filled with his racist propaganda. Honest cops don’t let political beliefs interfere with their job and they don’t abuse people and sometimes report criminal and abusive behavior by fellow officers. This is why we must remove the power of the San Antonio Police Officers Association (SAPOA) to police their own as time and time again they are set free like fat hogs to appeal their case to arbitration. The laws that allow them to scoot free are Chapters 143 and 174 of the local government code. These laws can be overturned by the voters and should be.
There is an effort underway to stop this process that allows brutal and criminal police officers from abusing the public. Several organizations are sick and tired of the phantom SAPOA using their contract with the city to rehire abusive police officers. The community has united within an umbrella organization called the San Antonio Coalition for Police Accountability. There are good police officers and bad ones, and it is the bad ones that SAPOA seeks at all costs to protect even when they commit crimes that involve felonies. One such group is FIXSAPD which is looking at a referendum to remove the process that allows criminal and abusive cops to remain active on the force.
According to FIXSAPD.ORG, “Our immediate mission is to repeal Chapter 143 and Chapter 174 of the state government code and eliminate disciplinary barriers put in place by the San Antonio Police Association. Fix SAPD supports community efforts underway to define the vision of future policing. We believe that removing these chapters will create room for permanent change. We believe the future of policing should support compassionate policing for both citizens and officers, responsible budgeting, civic accountability, and a reliance on best practices that build trust between officers and the communities they serve.”
Chapter 174 allows a lopsided agreement scheme that prevents accountability for officers that break the law and violate common decency, civil rights, and civil liberties. This law gives officers the benefit of the doubt over citizens that are not given consideration when misconduct by officers takes place. According to FIXSAPD, Chapter 174 “Allows police association contracts to overrule important accountability provisions.” This allows SAPOA to ignore the city budget and in turn creates total mistrust by any one that is stopped by police. Many people are calling 911 when pulled over to protect themselves from Trump cops.
Chapter 143 gives police one-sided “due process” protections that undermine justice and accountability. Furthermore, this rule “Prevents Police Departments from disciplining officers for misconduct more than 180 days after the conduct occurred—no matter how egregious or dangerous the officer’s actions (143.052(h)).” This undermines due process and creates an escape route for bad officers to carry out racist acts as mandated by a criminal racist president-Trump. All of this is supported by the crazed racist followers of Trump. These crazed racists are in the SAPD and are supported by “Back the Blue” fanatics that are often involved with racist vigilantes that parade around with weapons at peaceful protests. We can stop this, and no amount of false claims by SAPOA will prevent people from finding out what they are doing.
