Salazar Going For Number 3

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar has officially announced his candidacy for re-election.

Serving in the position since 2016, this would mark his bid for a third term.

Sheriff Javier Salazar of Bexar County announced his re-election campaign during a community barbecue held on Saturday.

“I want you to know that I’m here to ask for all of your support and your continued love and your teamwork and your mentorship and your friendship as I seek a third term as the Bexar County Sheriff,” he said.

Sheriff Salazar has been in his position since 2016, when he opted to run for office after a 23-year tenure with the San Antonio Police Department.

“I just felt that I could have the best effect on my community, not just my community, but this region this state, by staying right here as Bexar County Sheriff for another four years.

Sheriff Salazar stated that he wanted to address the rumors of seeking higher office, hence making the announcement now. As of now, no challengers have been reported. The upcoming election day is scheduled for November 5, 2024.
