SAISD SUMMER MEALS SCHEDULE

SAISD Summer Meals Schedule Provides Relief for Families

San Antonio ISD will continue to provide meals during the Summer (June 6-July 29) as part of the Texas Department of Agriculture’s “Seamless Summer Nutrition Program.” The summer program will offer meals at no cost to all children and teens ages 18 and younger and enrolled students up to 21 years old with disabilities.

The “Seamless Summer Nutrition Program” is required by law in school districts with a large demographic of “free” eligible students. No application is required, and all participants are eligible regardless of whether they are enrolled in a summer program.

“The federally funded program enables children to receive nutritious meals throughout the summer,” said SAISD Senior Executive Director of Child Nutrition Services Jenny Arredondo. “Regular and appropriate nutrition is very important to support a student’s academic performance and overall health.”

The program will run June 6 through July 29 at the sites listed below. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 am to 8:30 am, and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 pm.

Note: The summer meals program is a federal program. Due to changes at the federal level, the district is no longer able to offer Curbside or Grab-and-Go type meals for delivery or parent pick-up for multiple days. Meals must be consumed onsite (one non-perishable food item may be saved for later consumption). Meals are also available at various bus stops by the Transportation Department as part of the Rolling Reader Program. Meals provided by Transportation must be consumed on or near the bus; and while on the bus, children will be able to enjoy listening to audio books.
