Largest Bond Program Proposal in San Antonio’s History. The 2022-2027 Bond Program to cost 1.2 Billion
On May 7th voters will speak up and let their voices be heard on the City of San Antonio’s 2022-2027 Bond Program Proposition.
What is the 2022-2027 bond?
This bond proposes a program that will fund 183 projects which equal $1.2 billion to complete. It includes Streets, Bridges & Sidewalks, Drainage & Flood Management, Parks, Recreation & Open Space, Facilities and Housing.
There are a total of 183 projects in the proposed bond. A few are listed below:
Ella Austin Community Center Renovation LF $11,500,000 Renovate the Ella Austin Community Center Campus to include building envelopes, interior modifications, upgrades to major building systems, and site improvements. Additional funding will be leveraged from Inner City Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone funds (TIRZ).
District 2: F-Streets Reconstruction $11,980,000 Construct roadway improvements to include sidewalks, curbs, driveway approaches, and other improvements as applicable and within available funding.
District 2: Pedestrian Mobility $1,000,000 Construct pedestrian mobility improvement projects as applicable and within available funding.
North New Braunfels Avenue Phase 2 (East Houston Street to Paso Hondo Street) $6,500,000 Construct roadway improvements to include sidewalks, driveway approaches, drainage, and other improvements as applicable and within available funding.
Carver Branch Library Renovation $12,500,000 Renovate, improve, and expand Carver Branch Library.
Martin Luther King Park $1,000,000 Construct general park improvements within available funding in support of the Master Plan which may include shade enhancements at the basketball court and additional parking.
Lockwood/Dignowity Park $1,000,000 Construct general park improvements within available funding in support of the Park’s Master Plan, which may include development of a splash pad with shade enhancements.
Eastside Clubhouse (Boys and Girls Clubs of San Antonio) $3,750,000 Complete a structural assessment and improvements within available funding.
Dellview Park $500,000 Construct general park improvements within available funding which may include a sitting area at the playground, shade enhancements at the pool, and additional park lighting.
