‘God Ain’t Forget Bout Me’: Rihanna’s ‘Anti’ Becomes First Album by a Black Woman To Hit 500 Weeks on Billboard 200
Rihanna’s 2016 album Anti has reached a historic milestone, becoming the first album by a Black woman to spend 500 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200. Nearly a decade after its release, the project continues to hold its own on the chart, landing at No. 134 for the week of December 6, 2025, according to Billboard.
The album’s longevity is fueled by its standout singles, including “Work” featuring Drake, “Needed Me,” “Love on the Brain,” “Kiss It Better,” and “Sex With Me.” The critically acclaimed project earned Rihanna multiple Grammy nominations, among them record of the year and best urban contemporary album. When the chart achievement went public, Rihanna acknowledged the moment by reposting the news on X with a simple celebration: “God ain’t forget bout me!”

While fans have waited nearly ten years for a follow-up album, Rihanna has focused her energy on building a global business empire. She launched Fenty Beauty in 2017, the cosmetics brand that redefined shade inclusivity and helped make her a billionaire by 2021. At that time, Fenty Beauty alone accounted for $1.4 billion of her estimated $1.7 billion net worth.
Rihanna hasn’t stepped away from music entirely. She released “Lift Me Up” for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, performing it at the Oscars, and headlined the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show, where she revealed her pregnancy with her son, Riot. Her performance briefly became the most-watched halftime show ever, later surpassed only by Usher and Kendrick Lamar’s sets.

In the years since Anti, Rihanna has expanded her family as well, welcoming three children — RZA, Riot, and Rocki — with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky. Despite the long wait for a new album, the enduring success of Anti keeps Rihanna firmly planted in both music history and pop culture, as fans continue holding out hope for whatever she decides to drop next.
