Reddit has filed a lawsuit against Anthropic, accusing the AI startup of unlawfully scraping and using Reddit’s data to train its AI models without a licensing agreement, despite repeated warnings.
While Reddit has authorized deals with companies like OpenAI and Google under specific terms, it claims Anthropic’s bots ignored scraping restrictions and accessed the platform over 100,000 times, leading Reddit to seek damages and a court injunction.
