Property Tax Help Sessions Available Before May 15 Appeal Deadline
Homeowners in San Antonio have the opportunity to attend free Property Tax Help Information Sessions hosted by the City of San Antonio. These sessions will provide valuable guidance on tax exemptions and how to protest your property value, ensuring residents can navigate the appeal process before the May 15 deadline.
Each workshop begins with an overview of available property tax exemptions, followed by a detailed explanation of the appeal process. Attendees will learn how to prepare for a protest and receive one-on-one assistance from consultants. Representatives from the Bexar Appraisal District will be on-site to help complete and file exemption forms.
What to Bring
To make the most of these sessions, homeowners should bring:
• A Driver’s License or State-Issued ID
• A copy of the 2024 Appraisal Notice (if available)
If the property was inherited, additional documents such as a death certificate, utility bill, or court records may be required.
Those receiving disability benefits should bring their Social Security award letter.
Special assistance is also available for disabled veterans, surviving spouses of military personnel or first responders killed in action—proof of eligibility is required.
