Primary Elections Shape Who Advances to the General Election This Fall
Early voting for the March primary election has begun, giving residents multiple opportunities to vote before Election Day. Early voting runs from February 17 – February 27. Voting early can reduce long lines, provide flexibility around work and family schedules, and help ensure voters do not miss their chance to participate in the democratic process.
Primary Election Day is Tuesday, March 3, with polls open across Bexar County. Voters may cast a ballot at any authorized vote center in the county, regardless of their precinct.
Before heading to the polls, voters are encouraged to confirm their registration status, locate early voting sites, review sample ballots, and check voting hours through the official Bexar County Elections website.
Primary elections play a critical role in shaping the future of local, state, and national leadership. Candidates for local offices, judgeships, and higher-level races must first secure enough support in the primary to advance to the general election this fall.
Whether voting early or on Election Day, participation is essential. Every vote helps determine which voices move forward and strengthens civic engagement across Bexar County and Texas.
