Paris Airport Workers Announce July 17th Strike Ahead of Olympics

Unions representing workers at Aeroports de Paris (ADP) have declared a strike set for July 17, just days before the 2024 Olympics kickoff. The unions, which include CGT, CFDT, FO, and UNSA, aim to increase pressure on ADP management to address their demands for better pay and work conditions.

The unions are pushing for a bonus for all airport staff and additional resources to handle the expected influx of travelers during the Olympics. The games are slated to begin in Paris on July 26, making this strike a critical issue for ADP, which operates Orly and Roissy Charles de Gaulle airports.

If this strike continues into the Olympic period, it could severely disrupt travel plans for athletes, officials, and spectators arriving from around the world. Delays, cancellations, and chaos at these key airports would not only tarnish the reputation of the Olympics but also strain the city’s infrastructure and hospitality sectors.

This strike highlights the importance of addressing workers’ demands promptly to avoid disruptions during one of the most significant global events of the decade while ensuring fair and equitable treatment and fair pay for workers.
