Rattlers STRIKE!

Brother Christopher V. Wynder (’06-Lambda Xi) will be recognized in November by the FAMU National Alumni Associated as one of their 2021 Distinguished Alumni Awardees for his work in the military. However, he is not the only Wynder that will be recognized. His Father and Mentor, Bro. Charles A. Wynder (’62-Upsilon Psi) will also be recognized for his work in community service.

Each year, the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association, Inc. (FAMU NAA) celebrates and acknowledges supportive alumni who have distinguished themselves in their respective professions. The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest award bestowed by the FAMU NAA. This accolade recognizes alumni who have made notable and documentable contributions to the University and their professions and/or categories.

Leaders of a New Foundation

The Psi Alpha Weekly Mentoring Program had a mentoring session via Zoom with three past mentees who are now attending college: Darrius Govan (Blinn College), Faiszon Reese (Highland College), and Bruce Adams (Edward Waters University). The guest speakers talked about what they would tell their younger selves. Key points made by past mentees were: (1) Be sure to perform in class because your GPA decides if you are eligible for D-I athletics. (2) Overall work-ethic. (3) Be careful of the company that you carry (friends, associates, etc.).
