Annual Toy Drive (Miller Child Development Center)
On Thursday, December 22, 2022, we delivered and presented the toys to the children of the Miller Child Development Center. After reading a very uplifting Christmas story, “SantaQue” was on hand to present the toys. In addition, a shout out to the brothers of Psi Alpha Chapter who participated, donated monetarily, and/or provided age-appropriate toys; you will never regret the time and effort you spent on this noble cause. It is great to know Psi Alpha Chapter is still making a real difference for kids in our community as Brothers coming together to support this underserved community, impacting families, and bringing smiles to those in need; taking the opportunity to remove some of the stress parents may have at Christmas.
Governor Abbott Appoints Brother Elvis Williams to Teacher Retirement System of Texas Board of Trustees
Brother Elvis Williams, a 1994 initiate of Beta Theta Chapter of Omega Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, was appointed to the Teacher Retirement System of Texas Board of Trustees. The Board manages retirement and other benefits for teachers and employees of the state’s public schools and institutions of higher education. Brother Williams’s term is set to expire on August 31, 2027.
Random Holiday Assistance with Groceries at Christmas
On 22 December 2022, the leadership with some of the brothers of Psi Alpha, met at the HEB Grocery Store on New Braunfels and East Houston Street. Armed with pre-paid debit cards and holiday cheer, the goal was to focus on families with children and seniors. The Brothers of Psi Alpha Chapter randomly assisted holiday shoppers with the blessing of free groceries (paying for the groceries in the shopping cart), relieving some of the stress and anxiety faced by struggling families during the holiday season.
