Bettors at BetMGM are split like the series ahead of Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors evened the series at 1-1 on Sunday night with a third-quarter surge after Boston won Game 1. The Celtics enter Wednesday night’s Game 3 as 3.5-point favorites and 51% of bettors like the Celtics to cover that spread. Those bets on the Celtics giving the Warriors 3.5 points make up 55% of the total money wagered against the spread — there’s no real lean on the line with more than 24 hours until tipoff.
The Warriors are the preferred choice of moneyline bettors, however. Golden State is +135 to win straight up and is getting 82% of bets and 85% of the handle wagered on the moneyline. Boston has stayed at -160 since the line was set ahead of game 3 and is getting just 15% of the money to win straight up.
Like the spread, bettors are also evenly split on the total. The over/under for Game 3 is set at 212.5 and each side is getting 50% of the bets. The under is getting slightly more money at 55%. Game 1 featured a total of 228 points while Game 2 had just 195 points as Boston scored 88 in a 19-point loss.
The most bet prop at BetMGM for Game 3 is Klay Thompson’s point total. Thompson’s over/under is set at 19.5 points and nearly 60% of bets are on the under. Bettors also overwhelmingly like Jordan Poole to have fewer than 16.5 combined points and rebounds after he scored 17 points off the bench on Sunday night. Bettors are, however, bullish on Stephen Curry hitting more than 4.5 threes. Nearly 90% of bettors like the over there after Curry had five threes in Game 2 and seven in Game 1.
