The NAACP San Antonio Branch Women in The NAACP (WIN) is hosting “The Impact of Social Media on Youth Mental Health and Tools for Parents
Understanding social media’s impact on youth mental health is crucial as it shapes self-esteem, social interactions, and emotional well-being during critical developmental years. Providing parents with tools to navigate and manage this influence can help mitigate negative effects and promote healthier online habits for their children.
Being aware and educated on social media’s impact allows parents to better support their children’s mental health, guiding them through the challenges of online environments while promoting positive and safe usage.
This event is FREE and open to the public with keynote Speaker Dr. Kelle Loftin, Principal, Franz Leadership Academy, JISD. Panelists will include professors from St. Philip’s College, SAISD, The Center for Health Care Services and more.
This event is being held on Saturday November 2, 2024 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Barbara Jordan Community Center located at 2803 E., Commerce St. San Antonio, Texas 78203.
